| I had all the covers off my scooter for the past 2 days looking to see if a person could design a easy install trailer hitch for the SWing and noted how much the covers rattled. They where just plan loose when installed and made alot noise. I had some open foam tape 3/4" x 1/2". Very light weight stuff and cut the foam length wise with a pair of scissors. It only took 14 3/4" of foam to do both access covers. Now some pictures: This works great. Seals the covers and gets rid of that bad rattle. DennisB

Great idea ... I wonder how many rattles that people reported could be attributed to this??_________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire |

| Looks good! I'm watching 'this space' now for developments on the scooter hitch. _________________ Mike - Riding on the right - riding for pleasure!

| Went for a short ride today and what a change. No more noise coming from the back of the scooter. Well worth the time and effort. DennisB |

| Nice mod DennisB.
May well follow suit and also maybe add a little to the non locking front compartment.
I hate rattles of any kind. Take your mind off the road trying to identify the source. |

| Dennis, I don't recall seeing this post but I've been pretty fortunate so far. I think I only have 1 rattle at different times. But I had a Majesty once where the rear cover used to rattle and it did drive me nuts. I did something to stop it but can't remember. But that is a great idea with the foam. | HA! Thats where that damned rattle was coming from! Just did it. Tested it, and that fixed it! Thank you! This thing is sounding less, and less like a tupperware bowl full of lego's everyday!
I could see through to the ground between the plastics when looking through the access holes, so i taped across them as well. Between that and the rattle door fix, im sure the box will be a cleaner place to be!
THANK YOU! |
