PostSubject: Oregon ride day 3   Sat Jul 11, 2009 11:28 am

The 3rd day was the charm. The weather was perfect and what a gorgeous day it was, I'm ready to ride.
I headed east on I-84 to Biggs junction then north to Maryhill, home to the Stonehenge. It was built by Sam Hill and he dedicated it to WWI vets ( http://www.legendsofamerica.com/WA-Stonehenge.html )What a great view of the Columbia River and in the distance you can see the top of Mt. Hood, my next stop.
I ride back to Hood River where I can catch US35 the 1/3 part of the Mt. Hood Loop.
My next stop is Crater Lake and after that Mt. Shasta. My total miles for this day is 683 and 1609 miles for the whole trip. 30 gal of gas for $93.59 and an average of 53.63 mpg. swing

Beautiful - great weather and such a nice opportunity. Did you do this as part of the Northwest Scooter Rally?

Thanks for the pictures and the inspiration.

I wanted to ride w/the Northwest Scooters but I rode alone instead. Here is my photostory of day 3.

Beautiful country, except for the snow part - I'd be heading south about now.
Thanks for the video and commentary. Looks like you 2 are having a great time.
Ride safe......

Finally, I just finished making a photostory
video of my 1st day ride to Oregon and Columbia river gorge. I can't
believe it's been 6months already.
I haven't gone on a real ride since Sep09 when I rode up to the town of
Quincy. I'm due for a long ride here, soon just don't know where yet.
Anyway, enjoy the video.
