I am 234 and wife is about 135 and we ride all the time on the Silver Wing. We did the same thing on the Reflex and never hurt it.

Woops...now I notice the year of yours, I have no idea as mine is a 2004

Al,

Congrats on the second Silverwing.

You may not get much of an answer here, and then again there may be some who are very versed in the 80's Silverwing. This is a forum for the 2001/2 and newer Silverwing 600 Touring Scooter.

The two bikes are different in so many ways.

As to the Base 80's Silverwing versus the Silverwing Interstate. I would hazard a guess that all of the bags and top boxes could be bought for the basic bike to make it look just like the Interstate, including the badges. Cost would be a factor. What I do remember about the bikes is that they started at 500cc and eventually topped out at 650cc with a turbo for added emphasis.

thank you all for your input. Is this a forum for the "scooter" version of the silverwing? and not the old honda motorcycle? is there a different forum I should be looking for? thanks. Al

New revelation.....!!!!! Damn it. The 500 maroon stock bike for 799 is gone.
There is a 650 that does not have proper fairing on front. just windshield...but has all trunks and bags. It's painted black. It has 46,00 miles and said to run well. he wants 900 for it.been drivin daily for 3 years. is the 650 as good/better than the 500? Is it better for my wife and I to ride together? Is it worth 900? HELP ME!!!!

I think the Silver wing you are refering to is the GL series, so I would either change the forum or change the model because the two are not compatable, if it was me I'd change the model but that's me Laughing Laughing

There's been a couple of others in the past that have mistaken this Silver Wing scooter forum for one about the old CX 500/650 bikes of the same name from the 70’s and 80’s. Maybe if they miss the big Honda Silver Wing Scooter Forum letters on the home page, a more suitable cover photo than the current one would do the trick.    Rolling Eyes
