Saturday I decided to make a new Variator holding tool. I made one last year similar to the Y shaped one on this forum and used it when I changed to Dr Pulley sliders and again when I changed the belt. I also used it on my 125 majesty. It worked ok but I found it awkward to hold whilst undoing and re-tighten the centre bolt to the req'd torque. The new one that I made fastens to the frame using the bottom foot rest cover bolt and fits tight across the outer variator plate with 2x6m bolts at 100mm centres into the locating holes on the front plate, once tightened down there is no movement in either the holding tool or the front plate leaving your hands free just to use a socket and torque wrench. I tested it out on Saturday and it worked better than expected. Sorry that I am unable to upload any photo's but there are some in my personnel album.

That looks so much nicer than the Y tool or the official Honda tool. AND...small enough to be portable too. So if someone is anxious about a belt breaking while they are touring the tool can be packed along quite nicely.

Nice Job!!!

Now I gotta make myself another one. Any chance of a measured drawing?

Thanks chaps on the interest and comments made regarding the tool. It could have been made a little smaller and lighter but the steel bar that I used was the only size that I had. A big thank you to RArch for uploading the 2 photo's for me.
