The battery that came with my SWing (not the original) has been slowly leaking acid over the bottom of my trunk since I bought it, and I decided it was time for a new battery. Although many people here swear by the Yuasa, I didn't have the means or inclination to spend $160+ for a battery. So, I went with a PowerStar battery, which cost me about $36+shipping (came to just under $47 total). I've used this brand/company before, and they have a good reputation on the Ninja EX250 forum (my previous bike). Their batteries come with a 2 year warranty, which seems to be as good or better than any other brand I've seen.

Anyway, here's the web site: http://www.powerstarsla.com/motorsports.html

The model you'll want is PM9-12L (which they seem to interchange with PM9-BS). They don't list the Silverwing specifically, but search around on the page until you find the lowest price for that number - you'll find that they sometimes list the same model battery for different prices on different bikes (not sure why, I just order and don't ask).

The fit is perfect, but be aware that it's a slightly lower capacity battery than the Yuasa (9AH vs 11AH). This shouldn't be an issue unless you're engaging in behavior that frequently calls on the battery's reserve (like running a ton of extra electrical accessories and/or doing a lot of very low speed driving and idling).

I would like to agree, but I did NOT get what I paid for with my last Yuasa battery. I'm pretty sure it was my fault but I have had much better success with a much cheaper 'made in USA' battery I replaced it with.

Sometimes when you pay more you are getting something better. Sometimes you're just getting ripped off.

I've found that my local BATTERIES PLUS store carries a battery for nearly every application. They have fully-sealed gel batteries for every two-wheel application and at a reasonable price. And usually, they'll install it for you (of course, you'll need to strip off the tupperware).

[quote=" (of course, you'll need to strip off the tupperware). [/quote] Why? Isn't the battery located in it's own compartment under the seat? Question
