Eldon,

I've never heard of a bad experience with one of their modulators. Mostly I recall hearing about the ease with which it is installed. I do not know if it is truly plug and play as there is some wiring that needs to be run to accomodate the sensor that disables the modulator in low light conditions.

Eldon,

Good question, and I can not answer it. Any one who has installed a headlight modulator care to chime in on this?

I have a Kisan "plug and play" on my Goldwing and a hardwired unit on the Silverwing. The plug and play is the way to go. For the S'wing you should remove the small panel below windscreen (4 screws) to run the sunlight sensor up along side the windshield so that it "sees" the sky, 10 minutes total, you can access the high beam blub from under the fairing above the front tire. World of difference in being seen, and I think, next to a helmet, the easiest safety device to add.
After 38+ years in Law Enforcement, Fire Service and EMS the common theme I've heard in crashes is always "I didn't see them".

Not to put down Kisan or any other brand, but I have installed the HMs from Comagination on four different scooters.

http://www.comagination.com/modBulb.htm is their URL and I have had excellent results each time. The product is fully potted, tiny, and only requires that you pull the socket from the headlight, plug in the HM and then plug the socket from the HM onto the light. It can be done without removing any tupperware, but I am too clumsy.

I have also, each time, installed their brake light flashers. That does require breaking the hot wire and putting it in-line. (I use Posi-lock taps rather than the 3M taps as the Posi-Locks do not nick the wires.)

Mine was on the Swing when I got it, took me a while to figure out what that thing sticking up behind the left master cylinder was, still think it was an odd place for the headlight sensor.

I have a comagination modulator on my helix. It has worked flawlessly for 4 years. I really need to get one on my Silverwing. I am sure that it has kept someone from pulling out in front of me on at least several occassions.

I installed a Kisan modulator about four years ago on my Goldwing. It's worked flawlessly and only took about 20 minutes to install. Getting at the head light took most of the time. Mounting the sensor is quick and easy. I need two more now one for the Silverwing and one for the Goldwing 1800 I just picked up.

If you are unsure which model to use, call or emal kisan directly.
