Today the local dealership called me to tell me they had gotten their first DN-01.
By the time we were able to get to the shop they had put it together and had it on the floor. It was a red one and it is a beautiful bike. The photos I'd seen do not do it justice. The front is pretty massive in the pictures, but not so noticeable in person.
I sat on it and the seat is really low. The leg throwover is also pretty low and Kim even commented that it was not as bad as she thought it would be to throw her leg over this bike. The seat is low and the floor boards are in a fixed position. I felt a little bit crammed in as I sat with my legs on the floor boards. Just not enough leg room for me. I did notice that as I sat on the bike the instruments are positioned a little low for the posture I had while just sitting on it, that might not have been an issue if I'd been riding it.
The single arm swing arm is really nice (Honda does some beautiful engineering) as are the bigger wheels and tires. There is no real internal storage, although GIVI has a top case and hard side cases already on the market. The small windscreen is noticeable, although not an issue to me.
It is a really nice bike and I hope the Human Friendly Transmission makes it's way onto the next generation SilverWing or that Honda moves forward on the E4-01. I hope to get a chance to test ride the bike soon.
