Hi guys,

After getting your advice on the forum a little while ago, I have now bought a 2009 Wing in black today from the 'Value Bike Centre' in Norfolk, I just rode the 160 miles home and I am very pleased so far!

The bike has only done 1260 miles, so it is like new. I am new to the 'twist n' go' concept so I am fighting the bikers urge to pull the 'clutch' in when slowing down to stop (thuis caused a couple of comedy moments this morning during the test ride), I am sure I will cure myself of this in due course!

TRider,

Nice looking SWing and congrats on your new bike. Keep us informed on how you like it as you get more miles on it. And have you decided on what mods you may do?

Hey, that's not fair. In Canada the '09's only came in red.
My '09 would look a lot sharper in black.

Oh guys... just goes to show different things appeal to different people. My 03 Candy Apple Red was the "apple" of my eye. I miss the red. The black 05 I have now is REALLLLLY pretty when it is clean. But it show dust too quick. I saw a late model car today that was a deep burgundy. I closed my eyes and imagined it as a trike... maybe my next one. The main attraction of a Silverwing is its reliability not its color.

Black Swings, Black Swings, look better in the shade.

They do look good in black, better than silver IMHO, but will need a lot of cleaning to look at it's best. JeffR I haven't thought about mods yet, but some handguards would be an obvious choice. I didn't find the screen too bad on the ride home yesterday, compared to my Africa Twin screen, the buffeting is quite mild!

Welcome & congrats on your new scoot!

You will get used to it pretty quickly especially if you keep grabing a handful of brake during slowdown! Sometimes I still even go for the brake pedal Wink

Good luck and ride safe!

Mine looked great in black when I bought it, now I'd have to call the color "dead bug splatter which you can see some black through."

I think the only color that shows the bugs worse than black must be white.
