I haven't come across him before but will keep an eye out.

The political system here is extraordinary - we haven't had a government for around 250 days - a record according to the Flemish-English newspaper.

The country's really divided into four groups; Flanders (Dutch-speakers), Wallonia (French-speakers), the German-speaking region and Brussels!

The Brussels lot seem to want independence, the French lot want to join with France, the Flemmings will help them load the removal-vans and the German lot keep themselves to themselves - there aren't many of them.

Someone suggested the only way they'll ever form a government is if they all get off their soap-boxes and speak English to one another.

My late Father-in-law once told me (in German) that "There will never be world peace until there is only one language and only one God" Never have truer words been spoken by anyone.

The Belgians may be having political tensions, but they still brew some damn good beer.

The country seems to be functioning quite adequately at the moment and yes, the beer is very good - just won six medals for it at some international beer-brewing competition......and we get money back on the empties!

Reffering to the original post and the article about the lawyer. I was gratified to read the acknowledgement that it is all about the money. Most citations have nothing to do with the public safety and welfare. It's about the money. When the government says it's not about the money............. it's about the money.
