I recently bought a service manual from Putt Putt and had him send it as media mail. It was shipped fom Baraboo, Wisconsin (outside of Madison) on Feb. 8th and I received it on Feb. 14th. I'm not sure of the differnce in shipping rate, but he said it was sizable. The package arrived in excellent condition and I was pleased with the service. I live in Garland, Texas (outside of Dallas) so the package probably went through several handling centers. One caveat. Do not seal the package ahead of time. The post office checks to make sure it is media. DennisB, don't try to tell them you use your light bars to send a message to other drivers and try to get the media rate.
