oil came out still clean, but better to do it before it gets really cold

Well, I moved it. But we don't really have a section called "Members Report Their Preventive Maintenance" so I'm not exactly sure where to put it.

I will add- It's okay to change oil and not let us know, or at least I'm fine with not knowing. Or change it and let us all know about it. But, for future reference, unless you are bitten by a snake that came out of the crankcase in the drained oil, routine changing at a 4,000 mile interval really is not a safety item.

Are there other circumstances that y'all can think of that would make a routine oil change a safety issue?

True, true, but that is fairly pedestrian - how about if there is a crocodile or alligator loose in your garage?

Ah comeon, cut the young man some slack. He seems so proud to have actually done it (probably for the first time).

In my neck of the woods, I would be more concerned with snakes in the garage. So far, we are too far north for gators.
