As promised, here is a brief review of my '08 (ABS) Silverwing. I bought it new off the showroom floor late last summer. Per your kind advice and my experience with my beloved 2004 Suzuki Burgman 400, I had the dealer add isogrips, a back-off brake light, a Coo Case (well worth the money, cheaper than Givi but really great) and air horn. After significant buffeting at highway speeds, I added a SWing-specific Laminar Lip--perfect!
My SWing aka Janeway (after Star Trek Voyager's intrepid female captain) is a LOT of fun to ride. The displacement power is wonderful, especially for commutes on main roads, and adds to rider comfort and confidence. I did find the Burgie's seat to be a bit kinder to the butt. Love the instrumentation panel--very sharp-looking--and the clarity of read-outs. Road handling excellent. Leans well. Feels solid. I must note that Suzuki has some nifty features on the 650 I'd love to see Honda incorporate: Side gas tank access, adjustable windscreen, emergency flashers.
Would I recommend this bike? Yes if the rider is a bit too vertically challenged for the wider seat/seat height of the Suzuki 650. However, I love the look of the SWing better than my wife's 650, so it's mostly a personal thing. We are considering a sidecar in the future for our 60-lbs. dog, who loves to travel. She would be my co-pilot.
Hope this is helpful...or at least mildly entertaining. '08 SWing mini-review Icon_cool

"Hope this is helpful...or at least mildly entertaining."

Both, thanks Bry!

English friends with Burgers mildly curse the petrol filler; if they're touring with saddle-bags.....and one has broken three flaps off by forgetting they're sticking out (if you see what I mean).
