PostSubject: Hello from central MO   Wed Feb 10, 2010 9:47 pm

I have been a lurker here for the past year. It is time I joined in.

We live in Columbia, MO and are rapidly running out of virgin road within a 20 mile radius. My riding buddy has a Harley and is suffering from "Chrome Poisoning". He ribs be pretty hard about getting a real bike. Someday I may end up with an ST1300, but for now the wing is a blast. I like being able to bomb around town and still not be worried about taking 300 mile trip in comfort.

I have a Black 02 wing that just rolled over 50,000 in January. She has a little history. I bought it at a salvage auction, it had a trike kit installed that was damaged in a collision. For the most part it was intact. The bottom of the engine needed some creative JB weld repair work. See the list below of the fixes and mods.

1. Givi windshield
2. 2 Rear Tires (thinking about darkside next for better wear)
3. 1 front tire
4. Rebuilt the front forks (Seals/Bushings)
5. Replaced Drive belt. (Out of Spec)
6. Replaced front drive pullies. (They had gruves midway up pully)
7. Currently replacing rear pully moving plate and bearings. (Had a cold squeeler)
8. Have a buddy with a Linex shop, coated the lower fairing with linex it is now scratch proof, looks good to has a little texture to it.
9. Mounted 4.5" speakers on lid covers and 30watt amp for ipod.
10. Just added a J&M CB, so far it looks like it will be really cool.
11. Mounted drawer pulls on fairing lids, easier to open.

I am looking at adding a top box and fabricating an exhaust shield out of Stainles Plate. $200 for a piece of chromed plastic is crazy.

That is about it. If there are any members in central mo out there drop me a note.
7.

Pics just show that even on dreary days Swings look bright and warm. And this is a Swing from a salvage yard? Nice mods btw...

I am about a mile past home depot off clark lane (North East). I have seen a couple of Wings in town. At least one black one and two maroon ones.
