Riding since 1961, Gold Wings since '82. Downsizing and just purchased a Silver Wing. Just 450 miles so far but hope to start making some long distance trips as soon as the weather cooperates. Installed XM radio today and cut the Givi windshield down a couple of inches. Hope to learn more about the bike from all the long term owners on the site.

Welcome.
With so much Gold Wing experience, after you have more SWing time I would be curious of your review/comparision of the Gold Wing versus the Silver Wing.

Shadow,

Welcome to the forum. Like Bill I'd be interested in the comparison. I do think the SilverWng will fair pretty well as a long distance touriing machine.

Shadow,

Welcome to the site and hope you enjoy it. Please post some pics in the Album when you can. You can make your own album just for you. I'm curious too since I think the SWing does a good job on long distance but I also read that the GW is the "Touring" king. Also, how tall are you? I'm 6' and am thinking of cutting down my Givi about an inch and am just wondering how tall you are and how much you cut off. And also if it still keeps most of the wind off of you. Thanks.

Welcome. I'm still adjusting to my new Wing also. Each ride gets better and better. I thought about another windshield but I'm short and I think this one will do for me. I just want those bumblebees to hit it first!

Ithink the Givi windshield is wider so it might give you more protection. Then you could cut it down to whatever height is best for you.
