Short Run Lake Erie area

Did my first little run on the Silverwing this past weekend. Rosie my wife and I started out at home in Middleburg Hts Ohio. Went west via Oh 82 and took it to the end in southern Elyria ohio where we did a nice breakfast. While on 82 in Eaton Township we stopped over for a drink Sure enough there were at least 6 other bikes there gathered. Turns out these guys are bike preachers so we proceeded to get the Silverwing blessed for safe riding. Dont even know why I allowed it being a Christian thing and me following Native American spirituality but what the heck. It was good intentions so it cant hurt.
Anyhoo, after breakfast we rode to Huron Ohio via the back roads and headed to the beach for a few hours where we got totally sunburnt. Oops! On the way back home we took US 6 along the lake into Cleveland stopping at all the beaches to get our feet wet. The final leg home was through the Cleveland area Metroparks. Nice ride. Total distance was 126 miles and 2.6 gallons of gas. Not a bad day at all.

Didn't look for eagles. But I discovered the Silverwing was the perfect vehicle for antique shopping.
"Sorry Rosie but we can't fit that rocking chair in the Givi box on the back." Yup! Seemed to work very well. LoL

When my Wife was alive we used to "throw a dart at the MN map" and go to that small town via the back roads for lunch/breakfast. After that we'd ride back home via some other back roads. Great ways to spend the days. Sometimes while I'm riding the SWing I can still "feel" her on the back. "Having a nice time Honey?" I've never gotten hit upside the head so I guess she still loves to ride with me.

We did something similar, a left turn right turn ride until we reached wherever had lunch and figured out how to get back home. Oh and no GPS or maps allowed.

This weekend will be a bit different. Going up to Lorain Ohio on the silverwing and renting a jet ski for the day. Amazing what you find when out on a ride for the day.

Its 107 outside and hotter tomorrow and friday. Oh well, October is coming .

What a great trip. I have done almost the same ride in the past on my SWing. I am from SW Ohio. Glad you had such a good trip. The bike blessing sounds like a blast.
