London Attack 4th June

Woke this morning to the news that 7 people have been killed and 48 injured in a terrorist attack in London late last night.

Three attackers in a van mowed down pedestrians before leaving the vehicle and indiscriminately stabbing people. Armed Police shot and killed all three of them. One was wearing a fake 'explosive device' and witnesses claim islamic slogans were being used during the attack.

I work with a number of people who live and work in that area and my thoughts are with them and any of the members here who may be affected.

I'm sure that I speak for us all here on this side of the pond in extending our sincere condolences to all our British cousins in this time of sorrow. Condolences indeed to all our european cousins who are suffering this evil.

Condolences, a sad state of affairs no matter where they occur.

After the Manchester attack (l live ten miles away from Manchester) we were told these people were "known" to the security people. No doubt the same will be said of these murderers in London. The trouble in both our countries is that we know these people are here to do us harm but, they are still allowed to walk freely amongst us.

If we stop going about our normal lives, it means the terrorists have won. This must never happen. I firmly believe that this is not about religion - it never was, it's about nothing more than terror.

These people were shouting "This for Allah" - if they believed in Islam, they would know it is a religion of peace, not murder.
And no, I'm not a Muslim, I am proud to be a member of the Salvation Army.

I'll be training it down to London Kings Cross tomorrow morning like I do every Monday. I expect to see upgraded security - armed Police etc - but as to being afraid? Nope.

My condolences to the people in London who were attacked.

We just had a right wing nut job go off in Portland, killing two people who come to the aid of some Muslim teenage girls who were being berated by the right wing killer, who stabbed the two who were coming to their aid.

I say, time to lock this thread before the flaming starts on Muslims and more conspiracy theories.

I don't remember ever reading any outrage on here from you or anyone else when someone's deplorable gun-clinging neighbour has gone on a random shooting spree in a shopping mall, cinema, high school, or college campus. This happens a lot more frequently than terrorist outrages in the US.

But I agree with others that this sensitive topic has no place on a maxi scooter forum.

I'm also curious why topics about the oldest living tree on the planet, and weird theories about ancient civilisations are being aired on here.
