I found on ebay the motormate backrest for $45.00 bucks plus shipping from Austin Tx. I bought one and it is being shipped ..I needed more leg room and this they state gives me 2 to 3 more inches of leg room. Cheaper option than modifying the button rest...the manufacturer smells this for 70 bucks,,,

Could you post a pic of the back/underside of it? It says it reuses the existing pad, but that's not especially nice looking or well sealed at the back/underside.

I really need those extra inches, so am very interested in solutions!

How tall are you btw (6'1" here)?

The motor mate is sturdy but could use some touches to make it a bit better. It has a pad that covers the base and tends to slip off. The bumper pad can be adjusted for different angles by using shims but it works well the way it is. Supports the back very nicely. I will try and post a pic or two when I get bk home this week. I am 5:11 and needed the leg space and didn't want to spend the money and have the seat redone though that is an option. Cheers..
