New Mexico ride (pending)

I am leaving for Tucson on Sunday and will meet up with a scooter club I know down there. We will leave Tucson and head into New Mexico and spend the next week exploring the great state of NM!!! The plan is to avoid the superslab as much as possible and see lots of great scenery!!! Most days will be close to 300 miles with a couple of shorter days for R & R. As usual I will take pictures and post them here upon my return to civilization...

Which bike are you planning to ride? I got my degree at NMSU in Las Cruces then moved to Santa Fe and worked for the state of New Mexico. In 1979 my wife and I moved back home to be with family.
Northern NM you can visit Los Alamos where the A-bomb was created. Indian cave dwellings are near also. Not sure when the Fiestas de Santa Fe is, but the state fair in Albuquerque is in September. Southeastern NM is White Sands Monument. Further east is Carlsbadd Caverns. Great camping country. Enjoy your trip.

If you can get to go I would do Chaco Canyon n.w. of Albuquerque. Enjoy the ride.

Heading out this morning. I am taking the Silver Wing and the route was planned by the scooter club I belong to in Tucson so not much flexibility. Anyway should be lots of scenic roads and neat pix! Be back in a week!
