| After getting some nerve damage in my clutch left hand, I bought a 2004 Silver Wing a couple of years ago. I have ridden Harleys for the last 10 years.
I love the Silver Wing. It is so easy and forgiving to ride with the low center of gravity. I just got it out of the shop with a fresh oil change and a new rear tire. I also had them install a new after market windshield from Madstad Engineering. I don't believe anyone here has that windshield as most go for a Givi.
I will post a closeup picture of the windshield and my experience with the Madstad Engineering windshield later today. |

| y2kcio...
Welcome to the best Silverwing forum on the net. Lots to see and read here. I think you'll find this to be a really great group of riders. Lots of great information. I particularly like the "Accessories and Mods" section. I look forward to seeing your Madstad windsheild. That's a new one to me!

| It's a solid windshield with the 2 piece design. I like the metal bottom half providing more stability and the adjustable brackets. I just posted a picture of it in the Accessories and Modifications section of the forum. I'm planning to mount a GPS in the middle of the metal bottom half since I now have something to bolt the GPS to.
Time will tell if it will do the job. |

| Hello John Grinsel,
Yeah, I couldn't find anything on the Madstad windshield on this site. I decided to buy one anyway and I'll post my experiences with it on my other post at Accessories & Modifications section of the forum. |

| G'day and welcome. Saw the photo and it sure looks different. How does it hold up when you hit the higher speeds - any buffeting and do you still get some airflow coming through to the rider? Certainly the Givi unit is very popular, but here in Oz these things are way expensive due to distance/shipping and very small market. |

| Welcome to the forum, y2kcio. I'm sure you are finding out that the SWing can take on a Harley !! It is a solid dependable machine, and less taxing on the body. I don't have a Madstad w/shield but I've been on their website and seen the design, etc. I would think that it works much like the 2-piece shields on the BMW's. Jay. |
