I have a mount for gps and was wondering about tapping into a wire that runs along the lt. handlebar; maybe the horn wire. I could then run it into glove-box etc. harley k

I can not tell you the color of the wire (it has been a few years) but if you remove the cover below the wind screen(four screws) you will find a main connector with several wires. I found one that was live with the key off and spliced a fuse connector(1.5 amps) in the line and ran it to the steering column and under the left handle bar cover to my Garman. I elected to have power to my gps at all times, this is not right or wrong but just my preference and it works for me.
I recommend you solder all connections and be careful runing the wiring. Hope this helps you. Howard

My GPS is an old cell phone and a Ram mount. It looks a bit off seeing as I stood off to the side a bit so the flash wouldn't wash it all out. It works pretty good now all I have to do is put a card in the phone to load up with songs and get a blue tooth speaker system that I can mount somewhere on the dash easily and I'll be good to go.

I took the right cubby out and found a hot wire, taped into it using a Posi-tap Posi-tap Connectors and a
Direct USB Hardwire Car Charger Cable Kit for Garmin GPS Then I put the cubby back in. If I need to get at the wiring all I need to remove is the cubby and the wires are right there. My garage door opener is taped in there too.
