My name is Joe and live in Round Rock, Texas. I am now the owner of a 2003 Honda Silver Wing. I love to ride, especially with my kids. I am here looking for all the information I can absorb about the Silver Wing. Have a great day.

Joe, welcome to the best Silverwing forum on the web. Look through this link maintenance-tips-and-hints and you will find most anything you need to take care of your scooter if you're at all mechanical. You will find the answers to questions you didn't think of asking. But if you need help just ask  and someone at least give their opinion.
I would recommend buying a service manual if you do plan on doing your own service work. How many miles does your scooter have on it, any mod's on it or is it still stock?
 welcome

I have a service manual already, all stock and 15,000 miles. It was my Dad's, hi decided it was getting too heavy for him (turning 80 this year) and sold it to me.

I am looking to add a top case with a backrest.

Here is a good place for a do it yourself  Leroy Beal backrest mod . Here is a link to look at some top of the line top boxes with backrests.

Hello Joe.

Some people add the Givi separate passenger back-rest along with one of their boxes.
Both my pillions found the Givi backrest more comfortable for them as it is lower than many of those attached to the box itself.
There is one of Jeff's wonderful pictorials how to fit it on the forum.
You pays yer money......!  Smile

:flower:     welcome     :flower:    Joe, the v-light  may come on at 16,000 miles. You say yours has 15,000. There is a lot of information available to you by using the search box in the upper left corner.

Hello from just around the corner (to Texans anyway) in Friendswood (Houston). I got a new leftover 2012 two weeks ago. These things are great. Good luck with your upgrades.
