Hello from Haifa, Israel

I am riding a Honda SWT 400 and am very happy with it. My home town has lots of uphill roads (I think more uphill than downhill) and the Honda is great for both city and highway riding - it is our only vehicle - we do not own a car. This is not our first bike (my license was issued in 1954...), but it is the one we like best.

Welcome almagor, I live on top of a huge 'hill' too. Even has a nice hairpin at the top. Great fun.

Hey Almagor: I use to live in Haifa,in Romema that was long time a go.....I move to the states in 1983 and I live in Charlotte North Carolina,which is where i ride my SilverWing 600,however I still have my parents living in Zichron Yaakov !!!

We don't have the 400 here in the U.S.A. but I sure would like to ride one sometime.

I recently made my first trip to Israel to visit my daughter, who is studying at Bar Ilan in Tel Aviv, and has just made aliya also. We drove up north some, and I think we saw Haifa in the distance, but didn't go there.
It was quite nice to see all the scooters in Israel. That will never happen here in the States, I'm afraid, even if the price of fuel got to the point it is at in Israel (about $8 a gallon +/-). Anyway, ride safe.

Hello Almagor. Welcome to the forum.I lived in Israel 6 months in the 90's and spent 4 weeks on Mt. Carmel helping build the Prayer Center at Stella Carmel.I lived on Mt. Carmel near the upper end of the Trolley that goes from Mt. Carmel down to Haifa.Wonderful place!I drove all over Haifa.Went to Nazereth,Beit Shean,all around the Sea of Galalie( may be mis-spelled!) Mt.Herman and all the intresting places around that wonderful area.I lived in East Jerusalem most if the time.I believe the town was Shufat.I would have loved having a scooter while I was there! Had to drive a van.Happy Scootering,Ray Mac.
