Honda Common (61CM002) Service Manual

I think (but I could be wrong) that JeffR posted a PDF copy of the Honda Common Service Manual (for motorcycles in general - not specific to Silverwing) on this forum about 6 months ago. I have tried to find this post - but to no avail. What did JeffR post - and can you provide me with a link if it relates to the subject manual? Many thanks.

I received a copy of the Honda Common Service Manual (generic) for free ( awhile ago) , through the Honda Ownerlink for my Silverwing.

Make sure you have your Honda Ownerlink and your Silverwing registered in Honda Ownerlink to check.

Pages were scanned from photocopies, as Honda no longer print originals.


However on page 3 there is a copyright "Honda Motor CO., LTD 1988."

Before we distribute, we should and prove they have legally removed their copyright on this document ... just to be safe.

Perhaps it was the Royal 'we'.

Copyright laws are so complex that if you fear litigation, just don't do it.

I doubt you make the legal decisions for the Honda Corporations.

Here is the a link to the newer Common Service Manual ( http://services.honda.com/ServiceManual/SVC_MNL/61CM001/61CM001.htm ) ... which is a later version then the one I have.

It requires a login to either Honda Riders Club or Honda Ownerlink for free access. It viewed better with Internet Explorer (versus Firefox ).

The Common Service Manual has Honda's copyrights all over it ... and taking a lot of precaution to prevent copying ( and distributing ).

I could not find anything on the Honda website for the old 61CM000 which would confirm that they have indeed removed the copyrights.
