| Julie and I went on Ethel yesterday as I had a day off and the weather was great. Probably did about 70 miles in the Yorkshire Dales. Now its has been a rarity that she has come with me and only the first time on the Silverwing. Before we set off I let her sit on the scooter with the seat as converted This she felt OK but the top of the back rest dug into her thighs. If I moved it any further forward, my knees were resting against the dash. So I removed the conversion, and made the seat as standard, this was great for her and she was very comfortable, but, and there is always a but. When I ride with the back rest as a butt rest, I tend to slouch and after the ride I had pains in my lower back. I have seen a conversion where the butt rest remains but has an added back rest which would not inconvenience Julie any ideas? Any way here are a couple of shots from yesterday. After a pub lunch I needed to beef up the suspension :dunno: Pen-y-gent Malham Cove Halton Gill |

| Whereabouts is the Buck Inn? Looks rather good for a lunch halt.
Good weather, lovely picture of Pen-y-ghent.
Cheers, |

Cheers, Its in Malham, certainly worth a lunch halt, especially if you have anything planned in the afternoon |

| I stayed at a bunk house at Halton Gill a couple of times back in my GS days in the 90's, as part of a group that went on a tour to Eastern Europe, with a bit of white water rafting in Austria thrown in. Halton Gill has that long descent from Settle and it gets very cold there at night. The home made chicken curry one couple used to make for us all warmed us up though
There's a tiny little pork pie shop tucked away in nearby Skipton that makes the best I've ever tasted, it's nice to see you back on here too. |
