The Covered Bridges Of Ashtabula County

The Good Wife and I trekked to the North East Corner of the Buckeye State Camping and Discovering the 17 Covered Bridges Of Ashtabula County. The County has a Covered Bridge Festival each October and they have route maps to see all the Covered Bridges in two Loops. We spent a day on each loop. This is Amish Country with Beautiful farms, Horse and Buggies, Clotheslines of laundry, and young boys fishing on a small pond. So ride along and enjoy

Did you know that covered bridges are covered to protect the wooden superstructure from rotting?
Or that one of the jobs of a bridge tender was to shovel snow inside a covered bridge in the winter so sleighs could pass through them?

I knew that degree would come in handy at some point!
