| I have a start up squeak that I only hear when I start from a sead stop, it goes away almost as fast as it came. It soulds like a bad wheel bearing only it comes from the drive belt area. If I start off real slow, I do not get it, but if I push it, it is quite noticeable. Bike only has 1600 mikes on it.
Any help.

Mine does that if the weather is warm or I've been stop-starting a lot. It's the belt on the pulleys.

You could try belt dressing. It worked on the belts in my cage.

Not sure I would try belt dressing on my drive belt, might cause problems with the moving parts of the clutch. Belt dressing can leave a gummy residue. Craig

If that ever happens to mine I just hold in the front brake and then rev it up to 4,000 rpm's for about 5 seconds and it goes away. I think the clutch glazes over some when you do much stop and go driving. I haven't had to do that in quite a while but we can filter here. If I get it, it is just a very quite "chirp", but this takes care of it for a long time. I really can't remember the last time I did this though.

I have a noise in mine that I swear is a bearing . I have taken the variator apart and I see nothing wrong with it . I am changing the belt on my friends bike soon .I think I will take it for a ride and see if it sounds like mine . If it does I guess ear plugs should fix it .

I also get a squealing and such from the belt area of the Wing. I have to do a great deal of stop start low speed up hill riding at the moment. (Courtesy of the road works pre Olympics ![Evil or Very Mad](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_evil.gif) ). I did try the holding front brake and revving as previously mentioned and it works for a while, but the persistent stop start on hills makes the squeal return within a week. The Wing was recently serviced and asked them to examine the belt etc and all appeared OK so I put the noise down to the road works. (Roll on 2012)
