K&N Air Filter fit Empty
PostSubject: K&N Air Filter fit   K&N Air Filter fit I_icon_minitimeTue Jun 08, 2010 9:01 am

Has anyone else had a problem fitting a K&N Air Filter into the Air Box?

The Filter just doesn't want to fit flush into the Air Box at the front of the filter. It seems to me that the filter should fit into that gasket pocket at the front the same way that it fits into the rest of the air box & gasket pocket. Instead my K&N protrudes out 1/8 to 1/4 inch (the thickness of the plastic frame) rather than fit flush into the main Air Box body.

Anyone run into this issue before...anyone got a fix?

I do not remember any problems with the K&N filter. You may want to check the new K&N filter for flatness.

I had the same problem, I used a stained glass grinding wheel and it ended up fitting perfectly.

What/Where did you trim to get the filter to fit the air box? The outside main frame...cut off the flange that fits into the gasket pocket...?
