| Hi i recently sold my UK plate 2001 silverwing to a Spanish person,( I live in Spain), the guy is in the process of changing the bike on to spanish plates, and has found that there is no chassis or vin numbers on the vin plate, whereas his freind who has an identical bike has these numbers, there is a number on the frame by the right pillion footpeg, but he needs what he calls a numero de bastidor???, i am traveling to see him and the bike on Saturday to see what hes on about or if I can find this numero de bastidor,
does anyone have any idea about this or how to reslove it???
cheers Wade |

| Spanish word "bastidor" translates to "frame"... sounds like the frame serial number is what you are looking for... Dennis' diagram figure 1 shows location.
Hope this helps |

| I'm glad you translated that Gary. I would have guessed either: "Number of the bastard", or "Number of the beast". |

| Thanks for the help guys , I went to check it out myself and the fellas right the frame number is not there, there is a feint start of it with 2 letters but nothing more , gonna have to do something about it, because he has started the re- registration process already in his name , the officials are already aware of it, any ideas??? |

I would suggest calling Honda (if Honda will not provide have the police call Honda) ... a lot of times the manufacturer would have other undocumented locations for the VIN. |

| I was just wondering if all of the other numbers that are there are enough to get your bike registered in your country. Here in the US, we only register by the vin number. |
