Before digging in and replacing the horn button ,I thought it might be a good idea to ask if there is a short video here or on youtube that I have not found on how it's done?

I'm not sure if this has been covered before. I don't know of any tutorials but if it's anything like the starter button it screws onto the inside of the lower half of the switch assembly.

I doubt if it's a part you could buy from Honda.

What exactly is the problem? Can it be repaired?

The switch was iffie and at times not work at all.
Took the switch apart and sprayed WD-40 and then a contact spray and it worked once so I believe the horn itself is ok. Have not called the dealer yet on tje price.

Did the switch look to be in good condition? If so, it could be the horn at fault. They can be temperamental when they start to fail.

You could try testing the horn separately. Try short and then very long bursts to see if it begins to 'crackle'

Thank you very much. After removing the plastics around the handlebars, it was easy to see the connections are down inside the fairing.  I did take the switch apart and used some 3000 grit sandpaper on the button, fowelled buy contact spray.
That did not help. I figured an 08 with 51,000 and with the right side starter switch that also just went out, if I have to take to front off to replace the switch , I might as well replace to Walo Bad Boy 519 horn that I've had for 9 years as well. I did try the short and long idea but nothing happen.
The original switch cost $ 109.00 and they gave me a discount for being a senior so that was nice.
Again super glad I don't own a BMW any more.
That stand for BRING ME YOUR WALLET! HAHA

John, do you mean you're replacing the whole left hand switch assembly?

Yes I will when the part arrives. I really don't think there was any other choice.
