I’m 6’1”, 290 pounds, and with the original rear view mirrors on my 2006 Silverwing, I was seeing my elbows and shoulders more than my rear view in the mirrors.

After looking at longer stem mirror options, I decided to just get mirror extenders. I’m glad I did.

They actually make a huge difference for me with the rear view mirrors’ field of view (not obvious in these photos holding my iPhone), far more than I expected the 1.5” width and 1” height change would make.

Now my elbows and shoulders only make up the inside quarter or third of the view in the mirrors and I’m able to capture far more to the far left and right behind me in the field of view.

These are the ones I ordered:

(I realize there are many threads on this subject already, but like myself I assume others new to Silverwings might not realize the big advantage of these simple little extenders.)

Old (first) Honda CB750 mirrors probably work better. Dennis Kirk good source. I have used them on all my bikes/scooter except TMAX.

Those are the extenders I used.
At one time, some Silverwing owners fitted Burgman 400 mirrors; longer stems and chrome-plated. Wink

I’m not fond of the round shape of most of these CB750 replacement mirrors.

To me, trying to stay alive, and ridden a lot---what/how I see, rather than shape is more important!! I see those extansions have bolted joint.....something else to come loose, like on long trip.

Should have said in original post---Helix standard mirrors ok. Bought 4 new Helix, and enjoyed them for 175,000 miles total.
