Brake Chrome Plates

Anyone had issues with the chrome brake plates dropping out from their caliper as the clamps do not clamp any more?

I have tried to squeeze them a bit with pliers to help them push into position but both front and rear rattle and could jam the caliper if they do move out of position, not a nice prospect on the Motorway/Freeway at 70MPH!

Are you talking about the pad shims or the caliper mount little metal shims?    Caliper has mount has 2 and caliper has that one in center to push on pads.

# 7 or # 9 those parts are cheap $ 6 US buy new ones and forget about it.

Yes loose has the proverbial wizards sleeve! No grab just a rattle, over in the UK we pay over the odds for most things so will find out the UK price for these beauties and let you know.....thks apple and pears , dofts cap at you !

Whichever of these might be causing the rattle, I'm sure they can't move once the pads (and shims) are all in place. They might rattle but I doubt if anything could fall out.
