| In most cases replacement is not requred, I personally have not in numerous removals of cover, just wipe down area and make sure seal is still pliable/flexible, no flat spots or damaged. In a pinch you could apply a light coat of Motoseal1 , Honda Bond, ThreeBond, etc., especially if you ride your scooter in rain a lot. |

| No but if it's pinched or damaged I would. Watch that rear speed sensor wires some have pinched them and speedo stops working. |

| I replaced mine a few years ago but the old one was still useable. If the gasket looks OK it could be worth just carefully removing it for inspection. As stated above, if it looks OK and is still flexible then just clean it and also clean the groove in the casing to ensure a snug fit.
If there's no visible damage, it's probably OK. |

| Far more likely to be in need of replacement, and important IMHO, is the foam filter (#6) on the belt case cover. Not only does it stop debris and small children from getting in there but it is the only way the variator, belt and rear pulley receive cooling air flow. And the filter has a bad habit of disintegrating if neglected. |
