Hello ! New SW600 owner

Dear All,

First let me introduce myself as Iam a new lucky owner of a Honda SilverWind 600 ABS from 2003. My name is Sam, Iam 35 I live in France.

I bought it because of the reputation of sturdiness and also because of a good opportunity. (An old man who has decided to stop moto bike sold it to me for not so much)

The machine as arround 43000 km. I have some works to do on it as changing the oil, transmission belt.

Iam a newbie in mecanic, this forum seems to be a hudge ressource for desesperate peopole like me who doesn't know much in mecanic. Iam happy to be part on it now.

Welcome Sam to the BEST SWing site on the net. I learned a lot on how to do my own work on my SWing.

If you need help just ask or use the search box at the top left of the page. I wouldn't call myself a mechanic either but some of the pictorials and other help files sure helped me a lot.

This is definitely the best Silverwing site on the web for sure. And don't apologize for your English, it's quite good and easy to read. You're better with English including the variation we use across the pont than my non-existent French.

Ce n'est pas difficile a maintenir la SWing. Le factory service manual (FSM) vous aidera.  Le FSM est tres bien ecrive et les procedures sont simple, pour la plupart.  La SWing a la reputation d'etre tres fiable et forte.  J'ai une SWing, ma deuxieme, qui a 16k km; j'ai vendu ma premiere avec approx 64k km il y a cinq ans.

Votre Honda marchand peut l-ordonner, je crois. Demandez le FSM de Honda...les autres ne sont pas aussi bien.

There are copy of the Silverwing maintenance manual on line. It is the 2002 - 2010 version I have. If you would like it in PDF form, I might have it on my phone, i will send it to you.
Let me know if you would like to have it.

You may not want to do much maintenance on your Silverwing yourself. There ar several specialized tools needed and specific skills to perform these tasks. Mistakes you ma perseve

Mistakes you perceive as minor, could have disastrous effects on your scooter. A missing rubber gasket can cause an oil leak that might damage your belt...

I have much experience working on cars, boats, motorcycles and I take mine to the dealer for most things...

I have the manual but my phone crashed a few weeks ago and the PDF was lost. I will have to scan it all again which will take a while... I got it on line but it's been taken down. First I will ask others on the Silverwing FB site...
