Might as well say it. . Motorcycle charging systems give a certain amount of watts. Mostly designed to charge the battery and run the lighting and motor essentials. There isn't usually much left over for extras wired in. Some touring bikes have giant alternators and put out lots of extra watts, so room for accessories. I don't think our scoots have a very big wattage output. It is probably maybe 300-400. Add up all the light wattages the rest charges the battery. You could figure it out and know for sure. Pretty sure I would want heated something or other in Canada or Ak. I have commuted in 25 drg. F also hit 40's on a long trip with no electronic gear. Bbbbbbr

SW rated at 441 watts as per service manual at 5k rpm's. I often use a heated vest or jacket liner on colder mornings or all day if needed. Jacket liner pulls about as much current as the high beam 5 amps or 60 watts. SW can run heater gear and not cause a battery discharge .

Most heated gear uses at temp. controller that pulses the voltage so it's not a constant draw. No problems so far but don't use it that often. Volt meter never drops below 13.8 with jacket liner on high.
