Further to Jamie B's recent Cat & Fiddle* post ( https://www.silverwing600.com/t11039-cat-and-fiddle#112319): To many of us here in the US British pub signs seem to be an iconic image of UK life. Colorful canal boats as well. So maybe a few of you would care to post photos of a proper pub sign / canal boat along with your Silverwing (without your ugly mug to ruin the view) here and your Personal Album. By now you know that well composed Silverwing photos are always ripe to become the forum photo. Tim *Silly me. I misread Jamie B's post and thought Cat & Fiddle was a pub rather than a pass or route. Carry on.

There are a lot of places in England known by a landmark pub . The Cat and Fiddle pub is on the main Road and is half way round the country lanes ,so, is a good stopping point. In the area where I live we have a section called OWD' BETT'S again there is a pub with that name at the highest point. Named after a Woman that ran a drinking hall for many years who was called BETTY so it became OWD BETT'S or old Betty's.

It's still there & still closed Mike, with AFAIK no re-opening date, still used as a 'mustering point' as the car park is accessable to bikes/scooters & there is normally a 'butty wagon' on dry days. Road is now fitted with average speed cameras for it's full length
