| Recent really hot weather in south and then everyday rain STORMS has cut my enjoy riding BUT leaving for James Bay road ride on Aug 20----this time not alone meet ride partner in Soo Ste Marie Mich. James Bay road paved/private, need to have 240 mile gas range---my CB300F will carry 1 extra gallon can in saddle bag. Ridden this road before--BMW K-75. Riding it this time....just because it is there.
Have ridden in 30 states so far this year---Maine to California, etc.
Sept and maybe early Oct. Hyder AK---nice ride from Seattle---again because it is there---have ridden Alcan Hwy many times before----too many fat people in RV's trying to run you down. Hyder paved all the way---return east thru Canada some real scenery/nice roads.
Note: I find Canada a little more expensive than the US....but get by. Maybe next year slower going and camping. Motels are getting expensive---some are charging extra for my dog---love Motel 6.

| Ride safe John! Even though you posted in the "For Sale" section, I'll assume you are sold on this trip. |

| Topic moved to "Rides and Stories" section.
Actually that this was originally posted in the "For Sale" section shows an improvement. Usually anytime someone initiates a post it get posted in the Introduction section.
Thanks for the heads-up, Lewis.

| Have a great trip (s) John! Sounds great, wish my SWing was not in Arizona atm... On your trip to Hyder, are you going to ride from your house all the way up there? Wasn't clear on the post. |

| Only 6 days of vacation left might take a little trip down to WV.- SE Ohio area. Almost any new road is a good one for me. 250-300 miles a day mostly back roads.
It's about the ride. Graysilver said it first. Any good roads in Ohio? WV. has a few and road some of them. |

Last year I intended to ride south, but had to change plans because of the big storm down there at the time, and opted to ride with a few friends in West VA and SE Ohio. Nice roads about as enjoyable as some of the dragon tail ones down south. New Philadelphia, Ohio, has a nice cheap hotel (Americas Best Value Inn ) that has the basics at the best price around. |

I've never thought it was about the ride, more about the chosen destination. That's my main incentive to go ride somewhere in the first place. Otherwise it's just aimlessly riding round clocking up miles. |

| To me destination is not that important. I go each week to mostly the same places. The way there and back I vary. I like to take in country lanes, dual carriageways main roads and little villages. I can cruise happily on country lanes, knowing the curves and the speed needed to keep a steady pace. If I feel in the mood I use the dual carriageways for faster travel. I don't do long distances or overnight stops, there and back in a day suits me, I usually clock up between 8-10000 miles a year. |
