Retired,
Good job posting the pictures link
Here is a photobucket tip:
To the right of each picture on photobucket there are 4 ways to share the photo.
One says IMG. If you click the link to the right of it, it will copy to your clipboard.
Then just paste it here in your message.
The result will be the direct link to the picture, and it will show up in your post, like this.

Can you tell us a little bit about your speakers too?

Just took th SW for its first ride with the new wind deflectors on
Almost no wind up the pant legs
The speakers were on the bike when bought it
They are Boss mc500 speaker kit
I run my iPod with them
I don't use them in town only out in the country roads

I've had them on both my previous Silverwings but my 'new' one was without.
I've been riding it for a few months tolerating draughts and flapping trousers!
I bought a pair (deflectors, not trousers) and had them fitted last week; as I knew and other riders have discovered, the difference in lower-leg comfort is immeasurable.

Would you please post some specific ordering information on the deflectors? I tried searching eBay, but couldn't come up with them. Thanks.

I bought mine from here:

http://www.hondaofbournemouth.co.uk/products/fjs600-silverwing-leg-deflector-set-14531

I have a feeling that some Stateside members have also used this dealership in the past.
It occurs to me that with the current exchange-rate it would be advantageous to have them sent from UK to USA.

Here is a link to a "Leg Deflector" thread including a series of photos of Masscoot's simple leg deflectors from a no-longer-available eBay source. https://www.silverwing600.com/t8033-legshields-pictorial

I fabricated similar leg/wind shields using rubber base board material (comes in 4' sections) from Home Depot and used a 10" hack saw blade for that crucial support 'bar' Massoot mentions which prevents the shield from deforming at freeway speeds.

While there was nothing wrong with the initial fabrication (I used it that way for several years) eventually I also added black door edge moulding on the outside edges for a more finished appearance. IIRC the whole bit cost less than $20.

You can also use the Search function on the bluebtool bar to search for "Leg Deflectors" and/or "Wind Deflectors" to find many previous posts about the subject.

AHHH something else i would like. A great addition on colder days, wind up the pant legs not so good when its cold. I know Honda stopped selling SW in USA but we never had many accessories even then.

Thanks for WEB info.

I have used a much simpler(and cheaper) solution for riding on windy days. I use leg cuffs from my bicycle days. Mine are made of spring steel metal but they may be plastic these days. They are split and go on and off in a matter seconds.I store them in the left glove box. They even work great when I wear rain gear.  Howard

Somewhere on this site I thought someone posted about using deflectors from an auto parts store to create their own deflectors for the bike, can't remember what particular automobile make / style that was used.

Thanks Al

Yes, easy to fit. I used blue tape to outline their position before peeling off the backing on the deflector tape.

Hi
Like some of the other replies, I too found them really easy to fit. Just mark out the positioning carefully. A big plus is that my feet and legs stay warm and dry. An excellent addition.

I would Like to have an adjustable side wind screen.

Look at the Harley Davidson, Yeah I know I'm sorry for using those words here.

But, a Hinged air deflector, Short on one side to block air from your legs, and Longer on the other side, so when you want More air on you like Summer, flip it around and Now you went from blocking air to getting More air.

So it has a Winter cold weather, Blocking air position, and a Summer Position for More air on you, and you can adjust just how much air by swinging it out More or less.
