PostSubject: Bye to SWing   Sat Dec 31, 2011 10:17 pm

Well, after putting quite a few miles on my SWing, realized it wasn't for me. Nice bike, pretty peppy but just didn't work for me. So I took the financial hit (had some $$ saved) and bought a 2011 Shadow Aero. (Sticking with Honda) Just cause I don't have it anymore doesn't mean I'll stop dropping in, however.

Good fortunes with the new motorcycle to you.

I know that my SWing out performed my 08 Honda Shadow in speed, top end and fuel consumption. Not only that, it already has the floor boards, windshield and built in storage.

I realize that it is a "style thing" and that we want to ride with friends that have similar motorcycles.

My garage has a swinging door when it comes to motorcycles. That is why I buy used low mileage bikes so others take the hit on the depreciation.

I also had a Honda Shadow and agree my 2011 Swing performs better. On the other hand, I have a VTX1300 with 27,000 miles on it since I brought it new and I love it. I use it for the longer rides and two up. My other half likes the swing but perfers the VTX. However, she also says the seat on the swing is more to her liking. Good luck with the Shadow, nice bike.

Jim,

Good luck with your new bike and hope you enjoy it. Stick around and tell us how you like it after some miles.

Having great time riding, of course, adding farkles is part of the fun. Just put floorboard on and have a windshield, saddlebags, supports and disc lock on order. Will post before and after pics.
