Is there a place to purchase on the WEB, wind deflectors for the lower part of the faring--particularliy the thigh and leg area for winter riding--and also does the new Givi wind shield with the adjustable plate divert wind flow around your hands for winter riding? Question

Come on mate, I'd have thought before you asked for any info from the forum you'd have at least introduced yourself, said where you're from, and a bit about your Silver Wing.

Anyway, the wind deflectors are available from Honda dealerships or by mail order. My own experience of winter riding with the Givi Airflow is that my hands do get cold and I need the heated grips on.

Dennis welcome
Welcome to the best Silverwing site on the web.Yes the Givi wind shield with the adjustable plate has the wings on it to divert the air around your hands.Do they work? I haven't had mine on for a winter yet.I live in Florida so if they divert any air at all it will probably be ok for me.

Hi Dennis... and welcome to what has become the standard for SilverWing sites. And don't pay much attention to the "grouchies" on here. Introductions are nice but not a prerequisite for questions. Must be a full moon out tonite that has caused an epidemic of such rowdiness.

C'mon we're mostly of grouchie age on here anyway, and now you know shilld 1 is called Dennis, comes from Louisiana, rides a 2004 Silver Wing, and doesn't have a pet alligator...yet! Smile

I believe ( maybe someone can help me confirm the Givi's), the width of the windshields in increasing order

Givi AirFlow
Original Givi
Clearview

The Clearview is so wide that the outside bottom of the winshield bolts to the bolts above the compartment covers.

I ride year round even during the colder months if position my hands towards the inside of the grips, the Clearview provides wind protection. If I position my hands towards the outside of the grips, I can feel the wind.

A couple of years ago (check around July 09 in his feedback) this chap on eBay was making leg deflectors out of some plastic material you can buy in any DIY store I imagine: http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&ftab=AllFeedback&userid=reflexscooter&iid=-1&de=off&interval=0&items=200

He was only charging US$20 at the time. Must admit when it first turned up I thought I'd been conned.... but when I followed his instructions and put it on the bike I had to admit it did the job well and looked ok.

To see what it looks like on my SW have a look at these photos: https://picasaweb.google.com/noddydog1/Silverwing#

Maybe if someone contacted him he might part with the info necessary to make your own since he doesn't seem to be making them any more.

The only ones still made are not available in the US I bought mine at David Silver Spare in the UK Really expensive after shipping I am surprised Dennis B has not made them yet
