| Hi all. My belt light came on the other day and I discovered that this belt has 19800+ miles on it. Even though it's got plenty of life left in it I'll still need to change the belt in the near future.
So my question is: which supplier has the best parts prices?
In the past I've favored Service Honda for parts, but sometimes their shipping charges seem a bit too high. IIRC their recent price for the belt was ~$110 + shipping, which is a big discount from my local dealer's $158 price.
Any suggestions for other trusted parts suppliers?
Thanks, Tim |

| I think the consensus was fit a stock Honda belt.
Other makes have a tendency to shred!

| Try www.hdlparts.com I know that they have great prices for Goldwing parts but I have not ordered any honda replacement parts through them. |

| I like cheapcycleparts.com. Although they're at times a little bit higher than the aforementioned links, I've had good success with them as they were fair in their shipping rate. My new seat strut came very quickly. http://cheapcycleparts.com/model_years/1135-honda-2003-silver-wing-fsc600d/assemblies/15349 |

| Thank you all for your helpful replies.
The "hdlparts.com" link turned out to be pretty much as dead link. However going on the assumption that "hdl..." could mean Honda Direct Line, I checked their site.
Honda Direct Line's prices are cheaper than ServiceHonda and at $7.50 they have a cheaper shipping rate than Service Honda.
So thanks again for all your replies. The parts are on order.

On that site, select by model, display all models and then it shows up. Oddly, it only shows them under 2010 and not other years but most parts should be the same. |

| For me as long time rider and high miles-----use local dealer, tell them you will pay only retail and would like a little "good guy" discount if possible.
Remember dealer can be there if you really need him----mail order guys are out in space.
Gen. Honda parts good---I'd use nothing but Honda Belt and change at their recommend time. Walking sucks.
Further, most after market, except GIVI, is junk or near junk in the fit area. |

Really need the local dealer for what?
Generally dealer service of scooters is based on unfamiliarity and incompetence from my observations.
Their parts guys look through the same parts catalogs as we do, and they charge an arm and a leg. I buy online parts from Honda dealers who offer 25-30% discounts from MSRP. It's a pity that if you walk into that same Honda parts depot you will still pay full MSRP. Yet order online from them, and you get a big discount.
How ridiculous is that? |

| Local dealer there when I want to trade.
As I usually ride only under warranty-----dealer nice to have when Honda should pay for repair.
Also I like to look in their junk boxes----find stuff I think I might need.
I always give them chance on stuff I need, except oil....unless they give me a free case on new bike purchase.
Also if dealer has real parts pro, nice, idiot,n |

| I also agree with John. I have to get a new rear tire. I could get it $20 cheaper mail order, but I am getting it through my dealer where I bought the scoot because I want them to stay in business. So far, my experience with them is good, and I want them to be there when I need them. I also drive an extra 20 miles to deal with them because the dealer that is closer has NOT earned my trust or my business. |

The 2 dealers in my city have not earned my trust or business either. And one is a Powerhouse stealer....oops, dealer.
All it takes is a "we'd like your parts, accessories, and service business in the future. Being a valued customer we'll offer you an automatic 10% discount on parts, clothing, and service."
These fools can't think beyond the tips of their Sharpies. Over the years I've spent thousands of $ on bike accessories and clothing, and not 1 dime of that to my local stealers. If both went out of business tomorrow I wouldn't care. I have access to a top notch scooter mechanic if I ever needed one, and he's only $40/hr. That beats the $75/hr the Powerhouse stealer wants to charge me to access his young tech with 1 year of Honda experience and none with Silverwings.

I always liked going to St. Pete/the Beaches/Treasure Island/Indian Shores/John's Pass, etc. Now you've given me another reason to go back there in the winter. |

I'd love to. I'd have to trailer my Swing down and stay for the winter. I'd better go out and start buying lottery tickets to make that happen. |

| bigbird This is a post on our club site.A lady named Janie has a campsite she wants to get rid of.But like you said, you live a long way from hear and if you came this far it would have to be for the winter. Good luck on that lottery thing. Janie Wrote: "I have decided to stay at the hotel instead of bringing the motorhome. I have a reservation at Fort DeSoto park, for the 11th and 12th for a motorhome that I now wish to sell. The cost for the two nights is $82.88. If you are interested, please call me at 561-502-4356. Thank you!" |
