| I will be traveling from East Tennessee to Tampa in October. Traveled to Waynesboro NC & back yesterday approx a 175 miles. My rear & tailbone in bad shape after 75 to 100 miles. After looking at reviews it seems that the Air Hawk is the direction to go. Has anyone used it on the stock seat & how well does it work? Where is the best place to purchase & what size? I have tried the Walmart chusion & it helps but not enough. What about beads?
I have an 04 with 18,000 miles |

If if check near the bottom center of the buttrest, you will find a solid metal plate with very little or no padding. I would not be surprised that this causes a lot of tailbone pain.
You could either remove the buttrest, remove the metal from the buttrest, or raise the buttrest.
I was more comfortable without the buttrest.

The Air Hawk raises you up ... away from the metal plate.
With low enough air allows the air to move through the chambers providing better comfort.

With the buttrest ( and I believe raised buttrest): Medium AirHawk.
Without the buttrest: Large AirHawk
I have used both medium and large, but I have always had my Alaskan Sheepskin on top. I have not had any problem doing full day rides with them and my Utopia backrest.

Stock seat, buttrest removed with Utopia backrest.
Where does the 3 brothers backrest mount on the stock seat? From noise tip to 3 brothers backrest vertical bar(s) what is the distance in inches ... then I can compare to mine._________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire |

| When you install the 3 Brothers you use the buttrest as the back rest. The backrest will adjust in & out using the original brackets. I have the distance set at 2 inches. The backrest is not comfortable if you are using a riding jacket with armour. If the Air Hawk works I should be ready to go. Where did you get your Air Hawk?
Thanks Ernie |

| I have a Utopia backrest and use the medium airhawk. I absolutely endorse it. It is comfortable and allows airflow where it counts. As to where to buy it, I would suggest just googling "airhawk" and look at a few of the places that carry it to price shop. |

| I use a Medium Airhawk and so does my husband. I am very satified with the airhawk. My husband used his for a 1900 mile trip two weeks ago and is happy with it. Prior to that we were on a 2900 mile trip and his butt was hurtin bad and mine was fine.
Just google Air Hawk seat cushion. We got ours for about $129.00 dollars from RoHo group.
I don't have a backrest. But I would seriously consider the Utopia. |

| In contrast, I've also got the Airhawk Medium but find the seat comfortable enough not to use it. I also wear a Knox Aegis back protector when riding and I find that gives enough support for my back without the need to fit a Utopia back rest.
I've also removed my Grip Puppies, that's stopped my throttle hand cramping up, and my heated grips are 100% more efficient.
