PostSubject: Short ride (around 180klm)   Sun Dec 12, 2010 4:27 am

I got the scoot out this morning and went for a small ride through the Perth hills with some of my freinds from the Ulysses club.
The actual ride was planned to go for about another 170 kays, but, we had to cut short our intended run today down to 180klm from about 350klm due to heat. The day started well enough but by about 11ish it decidedly became uncomfortable with leathers and jeans and then the trip home was made in blast furnace crosswinds. This afternoon, we were running high 30's C and hiding in the shade when stopped. It isn't even the hot weather yet like January or February.
Dehydration is a major problem and if it were not for several cafes out and about as well as hydration packs we would be limited to commuting. The dust levels are on the increase as are the bushfire dangers. Even as I write this I am listening to the fire truck sirens howling past.

Ride on and rug up guys, or come over here. A nice medium could be Tassie or South Island NZ

PS My Swing is in the background( behind the guy with the helmet) hiding in the shade.
