| As you might remember, my husband and son were in a wreck on June 28. My husband had 2 broken bones in his foot, 3-4 stitches in the forehead and a broken toe. My son broke 2 bones in his lower arm and two bones in his leg. Luckily, both of them had no internal injuries and other than a tiny scar above dh's eyebrow, no facial injuries.
My husband has healed up quite nicely. Other than a toe that looks a bit out of place (and has no feeling in it), he is doing alright. He has some foot pain while walking, but no limp or anything devastating!
Last week, my son started walking with the assistance of a walker!! He is almost pain free. He has some nasty scars on his arm (fits in the Emo Kid Group) and leg. His incisions did not heal so great and got infected. We won that battle (finally) and still has scabs that haven't healed completely. But the important thing is HE IS WALKING! He has a limp; I said he walks like a pirate, but I couldn't be prouder! He can walk without the walker (and does every chance he gets) but I feel safer if he has it.
And the next best news is..... he got on the back of my scooter yesterday! He was terrified for about 3.4 seconds and then you couldn't wipe the grin off his face! I was somehow able to keep it under 45 mph and we stayed on a straight road with a very wide shoulder just in case I had to pull over. But my little trooper didn't want to get off! And he's ready to ride again this morning! Cherohala, here we come! |

| In a day and age of not so good news..... It is very refreshing. Very happy to hear that everyone is mending and still wanting to ride. Young children can be quite resilient as in this case. Just in time to enjoy the beautiful colors of fall. I wish you many wonderful rides! |
