| Howdy folks, Thought I should write a bit of an intro... I've already posted a couple of things. I've been riding scooters for a while now (I've ridden everything and anything since I was a tike though) mainly Vespa and Piaggio products. At the moment I'm on a Vespa GTS. As much as I like it I do feel the need for something bigger for longer overnighters, including my tour of North America, which I've been planning but putting off for too long! I've long admired the Silver Wing as well as the '07+ Burgman 400. When I buy I plan on sticking with the conventional belt drive CVT just because I know them and I can maintain them as well as tweak them to my hearts content. I'm leaning towards the Silver Wing because I would like to tow a trailer such as the Third Wheel Trailer. This seems to a pretty good forum. Just one question though: I've read some posts about DennisB's accessories. Is there a listing and pictures of what's available? Thanks. JC |

| J.C., Welcome to the forum and if you buy anything of Dennis's you will get one heck of a product. Some here have many of his things and are very impressed with them. If you look for the Burgman, they had some issues with the '07 where the clutch would squeal, but not on all of them. Other than that I hear it is a fine machine. I'm sure you know about the www.burgmanusa.com site and could get a huge amount of info there. Good luck and if you do get the SWing you will really enjoy it. And if you don't, please don't feel you won't be welcome here either. We would to hear a review of whatever you buy and the rides you go on. (with pics of course). Just create your own folder in the "Album" section. Good luck and welcome. _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone.
MikeO - Nice to hear the positive feedback on Dennis' goods.
JeffR - I am aware of Burgman USA and what a great resource it is. The S'Wing does have my attention for a few reasons:
1) It seems to accept the J. Costa variator very well. The Burgman seems to be hit and miss with it, depending on who you are talking to.
2) 600cc's. I really don't need to say anything else.
3) Frame mounted engine.
4) HyperPro springs for the forks!
5) The look - The single front headlight looks very sporty
6) Overall reliability/longevity - it's a Honda.

Coming from a man my own age I'll take that advice with more than just a grain of salt!!
(And honestly, after my last two scooter purchases I said almost those exact words on a couple of occasions)

| JC,
Welcome to the forum! When I bought my Swing a year and a half ago, I was acutally wanting a Burgman 400 2007 or later model. I was upgrading from a Honda Helix. I am so glad I went with the Swing. The Burgman is a great machine and a great looking bike but that 600 Power sure is nice when you need it. The 2 key things that the Burgman 400 has over the Swing are better fuel mileage getting into the 50's and 60's whereas the Swing gets in the 40's and 50's.... And the Burgman 400 2007 model has just a little more storage under the seat but its not a huge difference. For me... the deciding factor was two up touring and the Silverwing is far more capable in that department. And I think both bikes are sharp looking. I'd have to say its about a toss up in that area. Either way though, I think you'll be happy with either machine. Good luck with whatever you purchase! Ron |

| Yeah, I read a post on the maxi forum I think where a guy's wife sold her swing because she couldn't get her helmet under the seat...
That chick must have had a HUGE noggin! |

| I wear a 2XX full face modular and it goes under the seat with no problem, in fact My better half's fits with it. That wouldn't have been Big Bertha of the Butt Sisters would it? I understand they are a large family. Craig |

All helmets are not the same external size even with the same designation of size (S, M, L, XL, XXL).
For example my Shoe Multitech XL would not fit under the seat properly, the seat pan would touch the Shoei visor with the seat closed. I keep the helmet in my Givi E52._________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire |

| I can definitely fit a shoe in mine, even if it is XL. Just teasing....I never liked Shoei helmets because nobody knows how to pronounce it. Bell never seems to have that issue. |
