PostSubject: Wilbers Shocks   Thu Apr 01, 2010 9:48 am

I have a call in for more information on the Wilbers Shock for the SWing.

http://www.motorcycle-suspension.com/shock_absorber/wilbers/racing_suspension/shock_absorber_honda/index.html

Search for "FJS 600 Silverwing (Scooter)"

From the website:
Wilbers suspension technology is available for all models and all
Typees. We produce and distribute spring elements, fork springs,
steering dampers etc. for more than 800 different Typees of motorcycles.
For example for the "Amazonas". Pardon? You've never heard of it? The
"Amazonas", or Amazon, is the only big motorcycle produced in Mexico
with the engine of a VW Beetle as power unit- just because you've asked.
However, it was and is our main goal to offer a reliable aftermarket
product for virtually all motorcycles available. If you should not find
the motorcycle model of your choice in out catalogue or in our model-
and pricelist, please contact us.

Does anyone have the SWing manual handy to see if the width of the OEM shock is documented in the manual??

Wilbers does have the shock which was designed/engineered for the specifically for the SWing ... which they will then customize the pre-load valve and spring based on total weight requirements (my, passenger and gear).

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wilbers-shop.de%2Fmotorradwelt.php
Enter "Silverwing" in "Produktsuche" box and push "Weiter" button.
"HONDA / FJS 600 Silverwing / PF 01 / 01>" select "Ansehen"

The shock can be rebuilt in the USA, without having to send overseas.

The shock will be custom made to my weight specification with a custom valve and spring load. I have been searching for a long time for a shock designed/engineered (not just another shock), high quality for maximum passenger comfort, rebuildable in USA and with adjustability not just spring preloading. My SWing has 43,000 miles and the shock needed to be replaced.

I was able to negotiate 10% off (one day late) for the ADVrider March 2010 discount ( http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=555639 ). It sounds like I would have the shock in ~2 weeks.

From time to time, there are a few individuals that are concerned about the SWing height

From the reading I have done ... the Wilber shocks offer an option to lower the height of the shock. I will ask Ted port from www.BeemerShop.com for more details about the "lower" option next week and will post the information.
