PostSubject: Ordered my Metzler tires and wheel bearings !!!   Tue Mar 09, 2010 7:03 pm

Well, I ordered my Metzler tires and wheel bearings for front and rear and just waiting on them to come in. I will then have them installed and give a report. I have 29,000 miles on it now and haven't changed my wheel bearings yet but I'm not really sure when the bearings need to be replaced.

I will give a report of the Metzlers, compared to the Diablo's, after I have them installed. I read on the silverwing.org site that the Metzlers are pretty good. This will be my 4th set now and it seems I average about 10,000 miles a set which is ok I guess. I also ordered the rear side panel, the one with the lock that opens the seat, and will just have them do that too since they have it. It was knocked over a year ago or so and I just haven't replaced it yet. I couldn't believe they are $180 but it will make it look nicer.

Hi JeffR,
Is it that much of a job to change the bearings? I've done car bearings before without much trouble and was wondering if the SWing was similar? Yeah... I could look in the book but this seemed easier. If yours had 29K miles then I've got a long time before I start thinking seriously about it.
