silver wing gone ?

I just heard from a Honda dealer that the 2013 will be the last year that the silver wing will be produced . Has any one else heard this rumor or is he pulling my leg ?

Consider yourself lucky. The last model year of Silverwing that was available in Canada was the 2009.

I would say probably done in US----becoming a bit dated----overpriced compared to some new model Honda bikes----Chattanooga left overs still available @$7800 Southern Honda----features on US model they should have up dated=plug in socket, 4-way flashers, stock windshield fix, plastic easier to work with and last with now over 300,000 rubber band drive scooter miles, belt/drive system that lasts 50,000miles or so, throwing in easy rear wheel removal. I ride 30,000 miles a year now and replacing drive belts, etc at least a couple of times a year=not a cheap hobby/transportation, pulling rear wheel not fun, too

Have looked at new Forza=priced right, test rode=ok Owner's manual does not mention belt changes but OEM replacement belt $47 US! Honda even offers taller windshield as reasonable price.

My view on maxi scooter market in US= dead at present!

I went too the motorbike show at the n.e.c Birmingham u.k. two weeks ago the big wing was on display along side the integra so I guess the wing will be here for next year .I too had a test ride on the new forza 300 ,was not impressed lacks the punch of my 300 scoot .Plus hit a pot hole your in for a rattle your fillings out experience. Still keeps the dentist in work be safe .

How more many time has it to be said that the FJS/FCS Honda Silver Wing has already been replaced in most of the world by the SWT-400 and SWT-600 Silver Wing, two notable exceptions being the USA and UK. Have a look at the Honda Italy or Honda France website and it's there, restyled bodywork, different instruments, one on/one off headlights, ABS, non-adjustable screen, and basically the same engine and transmission.

So the choices are simple, hope it's imported in the near future, keep what you've got, or buy something else. Personally I don't care if it comes to the UK or not.

France and Italy are major scooter markets, not so here in U.S., Coyote Honda in Avondale,Az. where I bought my Silver Wing just went out of business.
