JCosta Broken Weights

I saw this on MajestyUSA this morning and thought it important enough to copy here. It's an eye-opener for anyone considering a JCosta.

These miles were all interstate miles and speed.... so I wouldn't recommend this unit if you are planning on running interstates...

HOLY CRAP! Should have stopped after the first break. All damage after is operator headspace and timing. That's the point I would have said F*** this and Uhaul-d it back home.

I think maybe this makes the case for Dr Pulley sliders as opposed to J Costa(it does for me)

pics here are not from a majesty, not from a silverwing. its clearly a tmax cvt. the jcosta is now on its 5th or sixth version. they have greatly improved metallurgy and design. the cvt is hard anodized and drilled at well bottom to create vacuum effect on pins. the slide is DLC coated. diamond like coating. nascar developed to prevent fast wear of piston wrist pins. and the bushing is self lubricating graphite. my friend owns a tmax. I installed the jcosta pro about 5000 miles on it. still butter smooth and quiet. will update when it is serviced.

I'm the one Jerry-D is referring to. It still performs the same as it did upon install. Still butter smooth and quiet. It will actually be coming out in favor of the new XRP model with fuzzy washer and newer smaller designed belt. I'm sure we will document the change over and take lots of pics.
