Throttle Play Empty
PostSubject: Throttle Play   Throttle Play I_icon_minitimeMon Apr 02, 2012 9:16 am

I have about an inch of Throttle Play. When I twist the throttle, there is a "lag" before the engine begins to increase speed.
I would like to tighten whatever I need to in order to decrease the amount of play. I would appreciate advice on how to EASILY do this. thanks...billc.

You were not offering information from service manual ... you were offering illegal copies of a a copyrighted material.

As I am rider and interested in that and do not care about copy, etc.

#1 Who has been working on your bike to let it get that way? Precise throttle control makes bikes/scooters fun and safer to ride.

#2 Buy Honda shop manual

#3 DANGER: too tight/lack of some tiny free play in throttle cables, can lead to engine speeding up(when you don't want it) like slow speed feet up u turns. Test, put bike on centerstand, after adjustment, run engine, turn bars side to side to see it engine speeds up. Make more free play in cables if this is case.

#4 If shop has been working on your scooter....find another before they kill you.

SilverWing more enjoyable set up right.

Why don't you delete the quoted comment?

It a permanent record for legal protection for the Administrators.

If Honda was to legally pursue their copyrights infringement, both now or or in the future ... we would have a clear statement and consistent historical pattern of how we dealt with this.

It did exist ... it no longer exists because it was removed by the Administrator.

Please read this post https://www.silverwing600.com/t3780-sudden-unintended-acceleration#34502

It is very important to properly fix the "lag".

I did not write it for your benefit (since you wrote it) ... I wrote it for the benefit of others as they read these questions.

I believe I have answered why I do not "delete the quote, which is no longer referenced to anything"

THANKS to all who replied to this topic.
I appreciate the ideas. I am confident I can adjust the freeplay in the throttle. I just need to know "how much" is correct. Perhaps I will have the dealer do this. John's idea about turning the bike on the centerstand makes good sense. I appreciate the input of all, each added something useful....billc.
