Hi all. I purchased a leftover 2013 FSC600A a year ago and found this great site. I started riding a while back on a Yamaha 100. Rode it in New Mexico for about a year then moved up to Suzuki T500. Kept that bike until I got married. While I had the bike, I traveled into Colorado to visit my then fiance. I have been away from bikes for quite awhile. In the year that I have been riding my Swing, I have enjoyed every s-mile I traveled. I do my own maintenance, including the first at 600 miles. I hope to learn a lot from my fellow members.

Hello "Easyrider",
Let me be the first to give you a welcome to this forum from a Kansas guy. You certainly picked the right place to be. I'm not an expert like many on here but you'll be able to pick the minds of those who are just as I have in the past. You're obviously enjoying your SWing quite a bit and if you ever get in trouble with it then you can always come here for the help you might need. Welcome again.

Welcome also, Easyrider! I too started off on a Yamaha 100 (1967 model bought in 1970). And I had a close friend with a Suzuki Titan T-500. Massive and bulletproof 2 stroke, I rode it many times, did not like the kick start on wrong side but bike was great! I have had my SWing since 2012 and LOVE it!

Ride on!

DickO,   I once heard a great definition of an "expert":

    Ex------a has been

    Spurt----- drip under pressure

I remember this when people call themselves experts.   :lol!:

Welcome Easyrider. You are going to really like this site as much as I have. You've picked the right unit to enjoy for many s-miles. Would be nice to tell us were you are located so maybe get in touch with another local swing rider. Good luck on your purchase.

Welcome Easyrider, from Nova Scotia ... on the east coast of Canada.

You have found a great bunch here and as you see we are from all over the globe.

My S'wing is a 2005 ... my first ever bike - and I am learning what I have missed in two wheel travel; and from this site I'm learning how to take care of it. Very knowledgeable people here who are extremely willing and eager to help out with any problem you may have with the bike.

Mike

Welcome. I'm a newbie too from a bit further south. This is a great group. You can spend hours just going through what has been recorded in these archives. Facinating for new Swing owners.

Welcome Easyrider! This is by far the best SWing site on the net.

My first bike was a 62 Wards Riverside 125cc. I traded it for a 65 Ducati 350 one lunger. Next was a brand new 77 Yamaha RD400 which I purchased in late 78 when the 79s were coming out. It was a 2 stroke but didn't have that Ring-A-Ding-Ding sound. Next was a 74 Honda CB750 which was sitting in a shed for a few few years. I paid $200 for that and after quite a bit of TLC my wife and I rode it to Pensacola, FL. What a fun trip and I still have it. Two seasons ago I went to Milton, FL and bought my sisters 08 SWing for $1700. It hadn't run in a couple of years so I trailered it back to MN. While waiting for the new tires and battery I thought for the heck of it to hook up jumper cables to test all the lights. They all worked so I thought, what the heck, and hit the starter. It turned over about 3 times and popped off and purred like a kitten with no smoke. So now that's what I'm riding daily when MN weather permits. The CB750 needs a bit of TLC this winter so that's my project to keep me out of trouble.

Again. WELCOME!

Welcome Easyrider!  I know you've made a good choice in purchasing your Swing.  I am also new to this forum, and in a certain way, new to riding as well.

I started off by purchasing a new Chinese scooter 150cc from a shop here in Los Angeles almost three years ago.  I rode it for two years plus then broke down and bought my 2013 Swing ABS (black).  It has been 7 or 8 months since I've been riding it and absolutely love it.  What's not to love when you step up from 150 to 600!

Treat it with respect and it will take you wherever you want to go...quickly!
